K House

The project set out to uncover a set of contextual devices that could be used to produce a modern vocabulary within a familial setting. Scalar relationships, programmatic locations, relative size of elements, and other conditions shared with neighboring homes were repositioned in the project through the language of abstraction and reduction. Discreet volumes are rendered in flagstone, zinc cladding and cement plaster, with steel windows and cedar frames as shared material links between the volumes.
